Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow is an intimate and immersive documentary that takes the viewer inside the hermetic world of the German artist Anselm Kiefer, at his remote hillside studio La Ribaute, in Southern France. Beautifully shot, in this near-wordless documentary, Fiennes incorporates visual set-pieces with observational footage to capture the unique and dramatic creative processes that lend Kiefer’s work such profound resonance. The result is a mesmerizing cinematic portrait that is both destructive and creative, fragile and overwhelming.
