Paint a Child's Life - Help Us, Help Them - Art Sale
Hope for Children-Office for Children’s Rights (HFC-OCR) is an independent, non-governmental and non-for-profit organization based in Nicosia. It is founded on the principle of promoting and protecting children’s rights in Cyprus. We aim to do this through implementation of a variety of projects covering areas with regards to bi-communal initiatives, environmental initiatives, integration of legally residing non-Cypriot children nationals into their host society, working with separated and unaccompanied children present in Cyprus; and, by raising awareness through fundraisers, campaigns, advocacy, advisory services to government and international organizations, conferences, workshops, and dissemination of information on European directives on children’s rights.
We are also a full member of the Separated Children in Europe Program (SCEP) and also the representative national organization, on a non-governmental level, which aims to protect the rights of separated children (http://www.separated-children-europe-programme.org/index.html). Our events and activities for 2010 include bi-communal and environmental initiatives, programs for legal third-country national children into Cypriot society and support services for unaccompanied children who arrive in Cyprus from conflict-stricken and/or poor areas.
"Paint a Child's Life" is an art sale event to help raise funds for the Organization.
The Chamber of Fine Arts in Cyprus, Thessaloniki's Fine Art School, "Arts and Moods" and "school of Art and design Marti," have all donated their work in photography, paintings, drawings and jewelery!
