Paintings and stories, Caterina Cornaro
At the end of the 19th century there was a revival of the historical painting. When it came to Cyprus, the artists were inspired by the story of the last tragic queen of Cyprus, Caterina Cornaro.
During this workshop the children will study the paintings, they will be encouraged to discover information about Caterina, and with the help of the museum educator they will join the pieces of the puzzle and they will try to narrate themselves the queen’s story. Then with drawing or collage they will create their own historical paintings, inspired by the story of Caterina Cornaro.
