Pantomime Show "Rencontres"

Romanian Society in Cyprus has the pleasure of inviting you to a pantomime show “Rencontres” by Dan Puric Theatre Company Passe-Partout.

The Passe-Partout Theatre Company was established by the well known Romanian actor and mime, Dan Puric, in 1999.

As a mentor and leader of this company, Dan Puric has closely watched over the stiff training of the young members of the company. He was not only personally involved in this process but also invited world known experts from the United States, China, Austria and other countries, to assist him in teaching dance, step, song, the art of silent gestures and mimicry as well as Ethics and Aesthetics.

The performances he produced enjoyed enormous success both at home and abroad, receiving rave reviews.

“Rencontres”, produced by the two founding members of the Passe-Partout Company, Dragos Huluba and Violeta Totir, is a challenge to previous performances staged-directed by Dan Puric.

The artistry they use is a synthesis of different forms of expression: pantomime, dance, step, gestures, music and light. It is a universal language, wordless, offering another level of communication, from heart to heart. It is a carousel of stories of great tenderness, of witty, refined humour and deep emotions.

“Rencontres” is the convergence of different worlds and civilizations: He meets She in various times and spaces. A love story with its inherent illusions, searches, tensions and doubts is intersected by a story of alienation and loneliness in the modern world, by a passionate tango full of impetus and gags, by a story of the most famous Hollywood couples…a.s.o.

The premiere of “Rencontres” was held on the 9th May 2007, in Luxemburg on the occasion of the accession of Romania to the European Union. Since then it has participated in numerous international festivals in Germany, France Switzerland, Greece, Poland, China, Spain…
