Τhe story of "The Paris Collection"
Art dealers, celebrities, patrons and the story of "The Paris Collection" up to Anastasios G. Leventis.
Known today as ‘the Paris Collection’, the personal collection of Anastasios G. Leventis was built gradually over the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s to adorn the collector’s elegant apartment in the City of Light. Dr. Myrto Hatzaki, curator of the Paris Collection, looks into the private story of this treasured collection, to reveal a hidden world of art history.
This lecture traces the invisible web that binds, across the centuries, important works in the collection to a little-known world. To the world of great collectors and celebrities who once owned these magnificent paintings, before they reached Anastasios G. Leventis – but also to the world of art dealers and patrons, whose passion for art supported great masters in difficult times, and helped to pass these fine pieces down to the present day.
The lecture will be given in Greek. Seating is limited, to reserve a place telephone 22668838 or email [email protected] by March 2nd.
