A modern day Cantata for chorus, soloists, percussion ensemble and ballet based on the poetry of Hector Patriotis.

It refers back to the history of the Cyprus people, their expectations, endeavours and their suffering. A musical mosaic from ancient times to today. The composer Michalis Christodoulides is the musical director of "Diastasis Cultural Association" accompanied by the baritone Costas Rasidakis, Nikolas Metaxas, Katerina Chatzichristodoulou and percussion ensemble.

"Diastasis" cultural association was founded in November 1984. Since its foundation, "Diastasis" has created and still maintains four permanent artistic musical and dance departments. During its 28 years of existence, "Diastasis" has produced and presented a very important work, not only in Cyprus but also in Greece and abroad. The association has performed all around Cyprus, in numerous places in Greece and also in London, Paris, Hamburg, Berlin, the United States (Chicago, New Jersey), Cuba, Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg), Tel Aviv and in Lebanon. It is considered to be one of the main cultural organisations in Cyprus, which successfully represents the country abroad.

The Cypriot, Greek and the international press have dealt extensively with the shows of "Diastasis" and have written evaluating reviews for the excellent organisation and the perfection of their shows.
