Pygmalion and Galatea
The Theatre of Russian Ballet Moscowia presents the ballet "Pygmalion and Galatea" to the music of W.A. Mozart.
The Ballet “Pygmalion and Galatea” is a love story inspired by the myth of Cyprus' sculpture-master Pygmalion who asks Aphrodite to breathe life into his sculpture, Galatea, with whom he has fallen in love.
Pygmalion's history is shown in the modern world. It is a story about love for the woman and also love to his own creativity. Pygmalion's madness is a result of this love. But the love of Galatea saves Pygmalion and brings to him rest and happiness.
Leading roles are played by Laureats of all Russia and international competitions, soloists of the leading theaters of Moscow, of St. Petersburg and Samara.
