Ride of Silence
On May 20, 2015 at 19:00 PM, the international Ride of Silence (www.rideofsilence.org) will begin around the world. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights and sometimes is not aware of the cyclists themselves.
Our cycling club, Podilates Lefkosias, is organizing this international event here in Nicosia, Cyprus. It is our pleasure to invite you to attend this ride. We will gather at the Nicosia Municipality building at the old city walls in Nicosia at 18:30, and start our silent ride exactly at 19:00. The ride will be 16-20 km and the speed will be under 20km/h.
