Sacred Body
Do we consist only of matter?
Is the body the garment of the soul?
What is the meaning of Incarnation?
Is Sacred Body the body that becomes One?
One with what?
What is Sacred and what is its antipode?
The new work of Asomates Dynameis dance company is dedicated to the search of the meaning of “sacred” as it is expressed through the body.
Five dancers present their personal voyage through the experiences of the body, expressing a wordless logos that communicates symbols and archetypes of our common memory as well as images that speak of desire, birth, love and power.
Sacred Body becomes a field where the body reflects upon its own nature, dancing the incarnation, the experience of being together, the ecstasy and the sacrifice.

A few words about the company
Asomates Dynameis dance company (body-less powers, or angels) borrows its name from the byzantine poetry to suggest its intention to express through dance, the spiritual energy and the power of the psyche.
Our work is based on improvisation and authentic movement. Our inspiration comes from the contemporary experience both individual and collective, as well as from the body memory.
We experiment with spoken words, gestures, sounds and images to create a poetic universe that has as a core the thinking/dancing body.
The company was found in 1996 in Paris by Machi Dimitriadou Lindahl. Between 2000-2004 the company worked in Stockholm and since 2004 resides in Nicosia.
It has been participating and presenting dance works and performance installations in various festivals in Greece, France, Sweden and Cyprus.
