Scenic Affairs
The Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre, Associated with the Pierides Foundation (Old Power House) has organised and presents Scenic Affairs, an art and theatre production placed in the framework of Project Room #3.
This production consists of three one-act plays by Cypriot playwrights and will be presented in six performances at The Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre (Old Power House) on 25 and 26 October 2011, and on 1, 2, 8 and 9 November 2011, as well as in one performance at Rialto Theatre of Limassol on 7 November 2011. Admission is free but reservation is necessary due to a limited number of seats.
All performances start at 8.30 pm.
The one-act plays are based on an art installation by Panayiotis Michael, which also functions as a theatre set. Three directors were each asked to direct a play, working with actors, musicians and costume designers of their own choice. The three 20-minute one-act plays will be presented consecutively with a short interval in between. At the end of the performances, the set will be exhibited at the Nicosia
Municipal Arts Centre, while the three respective shows will be projected on screen.
The opening of the visual part of Project Room #3 will take place on Wednesday, 16 November 2011, at 8.30 pm, together with the opening of two additional projects at the Arts Centre: Open Call #2 and Project Room #4. The exhibition will run until 26 February 2012.
The theoretical framework of Scenic Affairs will be presented at Parallel Events of No_body, 3rd Movement Dance Performance Arts Festival organised by Dance Gate Lefkosia Cyprus. The presentation will take place at Myloi, Kaimakli, on 11 November 2011, at 8.00 pm by Panayiotis Michael, Maria Petrides, Elena Stylianou, Alkis Hadjiandreou and Yiannis Toumazis.
