From script to the third dimension
Traces of writing – man’s first instinctual gesture to trace a thought.
As civilisation has evolved throughout history, writing has served as a tool for the description of concepts and events. Early archaeological finds have brought to light elaborate symbols traced on clay that point to commercial transactions. In the course of civilisation, funerary epigrams provide us with valuable material for the interpretation of history.
In the 20th century, writing permeates the area of the image as autonomous visual form that engages in various ways with the optical poetics of the visual object and space. In the electronic era we live in, through the dyadic system (01) in the field of visual reality, writing constitutes a primary cell for the construction of an inconceivable ecumenical field.
