Sergis Sergiou - Requests
"Requests" is the title of Sergis Sergiou’s latest exhibition, presented by Kypriaki Gonia Gallery from 21 October to 8 November 2011.
The artist states the following: “Multi-human requests from an “excited world”. Immaterial, linear figurines, without flesh, with movement and dramatic actions, framed in monochrome”.
Chrysanthos A. Christou, Professor Emeritus in History of Art at the University of Athens - an Academic - has this to say: “Sergis Sergiou’s artistic creation, which moves within the framework of representational trends, is distinguished by its extensiveness and the richness of his research and formulations in contact with modern reality”.
Sergis Sergiou was born in Paralimni in 1948. He studied art at the Athens School of Fine Arts and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. This is his 22nd solo exhibition. His works are included in a number of public and private collections in Cyprus and abroad. He lives and works in Paralimni.
