(S)HE - Meletios Meletiou
This innovative Structure and Sculpture Exhibition by the young and gifted Cypriot artist Meletios Meletiou is due to take place in Thiseas Art Gallery in Limassol, from 17th to 29th of May. The metal constructions and sculptures presented in the exhibition aim to question the theme of androgyny and hermaphrodite.
The sketches' deliberate transfer to three-dimensional metal imaging will be exposed, in which sex is coded between the lines that shape each piece of art. Your objective criteria will bring to the surface the conception of two or more sexes, enclosed in your own personal temperament.
In another interesting construction category, the artist questions the usefulness of the female body, with powerful torque in androgynous as a means of diffusion of ideas or projects. This series of specific projects is clearly characterized by irony, as all constant transformations towards the "ideal", lead or bump to death.
Substantially, it is not the projects or the ideas themselves that are being judged, nor their projection. The argument relates to the type of projection, expressed also by irony, which deconstructs the very idea or project.
So, is it really necessary to use the "impersonal" androgyny as a tool for viewing projects, and changing the means of projection, what is the impact on them?
