Opus 39 Gallery presents the exhibition “Small Treasures”
Engravings . Maps . Books . Decorative Items
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Mrs. Fotini Papadopoulou, on Wednesday 10th February 2016 at 7.30 p.m.
Items displayed from a private collection will consist amongst others, of a set of the 6 engravings about Cyprus by Louis-François Cassas (1756-1827), depicting aspects of Kerynia, Larnaca, Famagusta, Bellapais and St. Hilarion, maps of Cyprus by Coronelli (1650-1718), Blaeu (1596-1673), Van Keulen (1678–1726) and D'Anville (1697-1782), 4 copper engravings by Cornelis de Bruijn (1652-1727), books on Cyprus like "Ali Bey", "Voyage en Orient" from De Bruijn, and the book of Luigi Palma di Cesnola (1832-1904), as well as a miniature hand-written Qur'an dated circa 1700.
