Solo Violin Recital Violin A Capella

From beautiful Andalusia with its Mediterranean temperament, its irresistible duende as Lorca termed it, its inherent tensions and enthralling rhythm, comes a young and charming violinist who flirts with the violin in a daring recital, which includes some of the most demanding compositions for solo violin.

With no technological support or sound enhancement, alone with a violin under Axiothea’s starlit sky, the unique Naiara Castillejo from Malaga, Spain, will perform a selection of some of the most challenging works by Paganini, Liszt, Ysaÿe, and Napoléon de Saint-Lubin, works that are seldom played due to their virtuosic nature.

Naiara Castillejo Garcia, a graduate of Ateneo de Musica y Danza and of the Malaga Conservatory of Music where he studied under maestro Walter O. Tejeda Carranza, has been a member of the Chamber Music Orchestra of Ateneo de Musica y Danza and of the Malaga Conservatory of Music, as well as a founding member of the Andalusia Youth Orchestra. She has cooperated with orchestras such as Real Filharmonía de Galicia and the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed in concerts in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Turkey and the Baltic countries. She has also made a series of recordings for Spanish television and radio stations.

For her rare talent she has been awarded at the Angeles Reina Competition, the Young Performers of Malaga Competition, the Andujar Young Violinists Competition, and the Soloists of the Andalusia Youth Orchestra Competition. She has also participated in the Sixth Pablo Sarasate Violin Competition.
