Sotiris Giannakou - Self-Luminous
Sotiris Giannakou presents the exhibition Αυτόφωτος (Self-Luminous) which consists of poems of his own, illustrated by 21 artists coming from 18 different forms of art. Each artist created his own work, approaching the poem from his/her own perspective, in an aim to transform poetry into another form of art.

Bio
Sotiris Giannakou was born in Limassol, in 1981. In 2004, he completed his studies in Marketing at the Τechnological Educational Institution of Athens. However, his love for interior design and aesthetics, urged him to study, in 2007, Interior Design at Alexander College, in Larnaca, graduating in 2009, with 'Excellent'. His passion for poetry began at an early age. He has published 3 illustrated poetry collections; Epilogis...Epilogos, 13 and Avtoheires Pleiades.
The first 2 poetry collections were accompanied by paintings of Digital Art. Each poem was expressed by a painting, also created by Sotiris Giannakou, in an aim to express poetry through Digital Art. The third collection included 7 poems illustrated by 7 different artists. It is important to note that his latest poetry collection, Avtoheires Pleiades, was nominated by the National Literary Awards 2013, organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture, for the category Best New Literature Artist. Moreover, Sotiris Giannakou has taken part in several group exhibitions.
