The Sounding Museum
A Nocturnal Music Walk of the Foundation
Music Performance on the occasion of European Museum Night
Can anyone hear the sounds of the museum?
Is there any rhythm or melody to history?
Can we write our land’s culture in music notation?
On the occasion of European Museum Night, the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation invites the public to a unique experience that marries visual art expressiveness and sound creation with the wealth of our cultural heritage in the musical theatre production ‘The Sounding Museum’.
Through the compositions of young Cypriot creator Andreas Papapetrou and the live performance of ten musicians, visitors will set out on a resonant journey along the history and mythology of Cyprus, in an unprecedented wander that starts from the forecourt and carries on with a sonorous tour of the exhibits and the Foundation’s premises.
Weaving melodies by means of various instruments, the musicians will walk alongside visitors, creating a 45-minute hunting game of sounds that will include a tour of the “Rooms to Contemplate” exhibition, highlighting the most important works of the Foundation’s Contemporary Cypriot Art Collection.
