A space in 300 pieces
Ιnteractive event on a site specific installation.
On Saturday the 4th of September the Aeschylou Arcade presents an interactive installation of the Greek visual artist Lea Petrou at the Ledras street check - point.
An ice cream cone with two lemon- flavoured balls is being served to the visitors. Each ball originates from and inevitably represents each one of the two parts of the island. Each cone is wrapped inside a specially designed and numbered paper wrap, one by one colored with a different shade of yellow.
Guests are invited to combine the possibly wrinkled and stained by ice wrapping paper, in a team and human dimensions 300 -puzzle pieces. This composition is in a constant state of flux during the exhibition and represents different color readings.
The visitors’ on - site movements looking for the right spot to place their square is a reminiscent of a choreography.
The completion of the floor-based plan is totally dependent on the visitors of the site and their willing for interaction.
The final image depicts a geographic area, which gradually evolves into another one, architectural space, the one of Ledras street check - point.
