Sports and Volunteers Awards by Sotira Municipality
Speaker: Former Minister of Education and Culture and President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, Mr. Ouranios Ioannides.
The Cultural Committee of the Municipality of Sotira organizes for first time the Sports and Volunteers Awards on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Sotira’s City Hall
The awards will honor students who have achieved distinctions in sports and individuals or organizations during the past year who have shown remarkable and selfless volunteer work.
Will be honored, too, the group of U-21's Onisilos F.C. for winning the Championship of Second Division during football season 2011-2012. Also, prizes will be awarded to people who originate from Sotira and worthily represent the municipality in the great sporting events of the place, as football player Dimitris Christofi and coach Nicos Nicolaou (soccer), Helen Michael (leader of National Volleyball in Cyprus) and George Mavros (Bronze Medal in the Winter Special Olympics in Korea in Floor Hockey).
Especially awards will be given for the total supply and the moments of pride that gave us the silver medalist Paul Kontides (sailing), Helen Artymata (200 meters), Antonakis and Panagiota Andreou (skeet), Panagiotis Trisokkas (leader in the Cyprus National basketball team), and APOEL F.C.
The Awards will be presented by experienced Sports reporter from Sotira, Andri Kasapi.
Keynote speaker will be the former Minister of Education and Culture and President of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, Mr. Ouranios Ioannidis.
The awards are under the auspices of the Cyprus Olympic Committee.
