Spring Collection of Arbat
Arbat Gallery would like to invite you for new exhibition “Spring Collection of Arbat”. This is group exhibition of Russian and Cypriot artists that represents blend of paintings and hand made dolls. Opening of the exhibition will be on 8 of April 2011 at 7.00 p.m.
Tatiana Soteropoulos is Cypriot artist whose work embraces non-objective forms and inspire chromaticity. Speaking through the expressive language of colour, artists explore the convergence of the abstract and the figurative, merging the spiritual and the organic through her highly evocative and contemplative compositions. Her works were exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions around the world. She created the design for the new national currency of Cyprus to become the first Euro ever issued for the country.
George Gavriel is contemporary Cypriot master who capture physical and emotional impressions of traditional life around him, skilfully manipulating his chosen media to shed light on the tangible and intangible aspects that establish a sense of place. His works were representing Cyprus at Beijing International Art Biennale 2010.
Elene Elizbarashvili Christodoulaki is Georgia born young artist with ability to show her vision of the modern world through triumphant technique and spirited aesthetic sensibility. Her paintings are elevating the viewer’s mind through their powerful compositions.
Lydia Chamberlen is Ukraine born distinctive master of hand-made dolls. Her collections of dolls were representing Cyprus at International Doll Exhibition in Rotterdam (Holland), Orando (USA), Moscow (Russia). Lydia uses the old technique of papier-mâché and modern materials such paper clay. She makes all costumes and details herself, frequently using vintage fabrics and lace. Each doll is one-of-a-kind with unique character and appearance.
