StreetArt Square 2016
In recent years street art has expanded rapidly all over the world. Its dynamic style and critical/satirical mood, essential elements of its philosophy, have made it a vital part of the urban environment. Street art has become an important part of the aesthetic, social and, of course, existential profile of the modern urban civilization.
The absence of street art in Pafos streets poses a very interesting challenge for artists to create new works and adapt them to the surroundings. With the StreetArt Square this form of art will invade the cityscape offering new landmarks to the Pafos center.
StreetArt Square is a project under the Pafos 2017-European Capital of Culture programme. This year’s line-up includes the following artists: Fikos (GR), Bane (SWI), Pest (CY), Rusl (GER), Lune82 (GR), BillyGEE (GR), Alex Martinez (GR), Dhal (S. KOR), Batu Gundal (CY), Bankrupt.CY (CY).
The project will take place on 5-9 October 2016 at Costa Karnavalou Street. Other activities, related to street art the project, will also take place. More info coming soon.
