Summer Waves
“Summer Waves” Ceramic Exhibition to open in June at the Aphrodite-Amathusia Cultural Center in Limassol
The sea has been a subject of fascination to many artists throughout the centuries. The “Summer Waves” Exhibition will be featuring the unique outlook of two contemporary artists, Oria Petropoulou from Limassol and Anny Zachariades from Athens, who collaborated to create a carefully orchestrated and unified ceramics collection inspired by the sea.
The collection includes sculptures and installations, as well as decorative and functional ceramics, with numerous references to the ocean and marine life, as the two artists explore their emotional responses to the captivating colours-textures-forms found within aquatic environments.
“Summer Waves” will be presented at the Aphrodite-Amathusia Cultural Center, the renovated stone-built building, on Agios Tychonas seafront in Limassol.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday 3rd June 2016 at 6:30pm by the First Lady of the Republic of Cyprus, Mrs. Andri Anastasiadi. The artwork will continue to be displayed daily from 10:00am to 9:00pm until the 6th of June.
