The Baroque Era
The cultural and aesthetic movement of the Baroque that flourished from the end of the 16th until the middle of the 18th century, influenced the evolution of art and artistic creation. Focusing on human emotions and passions, the Baroque took form on the basis of an antithesis: extravagance and substance. Composers such as Bach, Handel, Corelli, Alessandro and Domenico Scarlatti, Lully, Rameau, Purcel and Vivaldi created within this artistic framework and produced eternal masterpieces, thus opening the horizon for the birth of the classical style.
In its annual concert, the Music School scholars together with Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra ensembles will take you on a musical exploration of the fascinating world of Baroque musical creation.
