The color of the East sleeps alone with "MOUSA" ensemble
"Mousa" (muse) ensemble, was established by Michalis Tterlikkas 1985. It is composed by: Michalis Ttertlikkas (voice), Costas Karpasitis (violin, voice), Yiannis Souroulas (lute, voice), Nikos Souroulas (tamboutsia - the most authentic percussion organ of Cyprus, voice).
"Mousa" uses only local traditional instruments and is particularly characterized by its firm commitment to the ethos and style of traditional Cypriot music. It has a fairly rich repertoire, which is continuously enriched by Michalis Tterlikka's research. Although they all have musical knowledge, they adjust the learning of new songs by using the traditional "by ear" method.
"Mousa" has made her strong presence in the field of folk music during the course so far, giving performances in Cyprus and abroad; also by participating in many radio and television programs as well in the albums of M.Tterlikkas.
"Mousa", attempts to pass the message that traditional music is not a 'dead' musical genre but a live one incorporated in today's society.
