The Truth
Skala Theater presents "The Truth" (La Vérité), a play written by Florian Zeller and directed by Christos Zanos.
Florian Zeller (born 28 June 1979) is a French novelist and playwright. His work has been translated into many languages, including English. He won the prestigious Prix Interallié in 2004 for his novel "Fascination of Evil" ("La Fascination du Pire") and several Moliere Awards for his plays. He is, according to The Independent, "one of the hottest literary talents in France".
Plot:
Michel is six months into an affair with Alice, the wife of his best friend Paul, who’s been the lover of Michel’s wife, Laurence, for the past 18 months, neatly pulling the wool over Michel’s eyes, who, let’s face it, isn’t the brightest bulb in the chandelier, besides being a serial liar.
How all this works out is at the heart of The Truth, an impudent, enjoyable farce about lying and the unexpected consequences thereof.
