The Open University of Cyprus and Larnaca Municipality present the postmodern musical play “The turbulent life of Ririka Schweitzer” by Eustathia.
"When our desires are not fulfilled, they become stagnant and repressed. And then our dark self occurs. But again what we would do without dreams? "
The songwriter Eustathia (having also been a theatrical writer the last years) presents a postmodern musical play titled "The turbulent life of Ririka Schweitzer.
The Greek Cypriot actress and soprano Elena Hadjiafxendi embodies the role of Ririka Schweizer, a heroine, born in the late 19th century while Eustathia with her on stage, narrates Ririka’s life through stories and arias from Greek Operettas, songs from the interwar era and new compositions. Ririka Schweitzer starts her long journey to make her dream comes true, to become a great artist of vaudeville at a time difficult for women. We are not sure if she will make it but for sure her story we will captivate us. The playis is devoted to each of us that has a dream.
