Theatre without borders

YEU organises the three day festival of Theatre, Poetry and other arts: Theatre without borders! “Theatre without borders” aims to bring together youth from all around Cyprus, to explore the expression through theatre, poetry and creative writing. It is basically a theatre and poetry festival through which youth will have the chance to participate in artistic workshops during which they will come in contact with various forms of theatre and poetry. In addition to these, they will have the chance to watch various performances of alternative theatre, as well as dramatised poetry. In the workshops and in the performances both Greek-cypriot as well as Turkish-cypriot youth will participate, as it is organised by poets and persons involved in theatre, from both communities. This as a result, will bring together youth through art and will eliminate possible stereotypes and prejudices. Art unites and this is what we will try to implement with this festival, in addition to the promotion of different forms of theatre.

Every educational workshop will host a maximum of 20 participants and will last for 3-4 hours. The educational part of the workshops will be held by young people from the two communities (TC and GC) who are professionals and active in the specific artistic fields, and who will later direct the participants to creative activities. The performances will take place in public space with the aim of greater public awareness on theatre and poetry and the promotion of «Youth Initiatives».

All workshops are free of charge. A certificate of attendance will be given for all workshops.
