Theo Mass-Lexileictous: Extraterrestrial, Postdigitalism_II
On 21 November at 8pm and until 5 December 2014, Theo Mass-Lexileictous returns to Gallery Morfi in Limassol (www.morfi.org) to present an art-collective based on his #postdigitalism theory, titled “EXTRATERRESTRIAL, POSTDIGITALISM_II”.
Visual Culture Theorist, Marina Makris writes:
“As part of Theo-Mass Lexileictous’s preoccupation with the postdigitalism concept, a term coined by himself and adopted extensively throughout his research, the Extraterrestrial exhibition presents an art collective created under the #postdigitalism concept. The works displayed, represent a new approach to the subject matter, one that indicates a valued attention to the human touch, an element that was excluded from the postdigitalism show presented a year earlier, highlighting new pathways into the exploration of the postdigitalism concept.
The Extraterrestrial exhibition brings together artworks across a diverse range of mediums such as video art, sculpture, drawing and 3d scanning, on a mission to explore the boundaries between the digital and material reality. Exploring the infinite possibilities provided by digital softwares, these artworks were conceived within digital parameters and drawn out to inhabit the constraints of the physical space. The term extraterrestrial is used to describe the prevailing characteristics of the artworks, whose composition originates beyond physical perspectives.
Since its launch, the #postdigitalism episode brought together more than 40 collaborations with artists and designers working across various disciplines.”
