Theofilos
The film presents the life and eccentric personality of the great folk artist Theofilos Hatzimihail (1868-1934), who travelled the Greek countryside in search of capturing the essence of the Greek spirit on canvas. At the same time the film reveals the importance of his art in an era when Greece was looking towards the West while he was “immersing” himself poetically in the Greece of myth and folk tradition.
