Thyromata
The Pantheon Gallery invites you to the opening of painting exhibition by Kyriakos Spyrou entitled "Thyromata" on Monday 25 January 2010, 8.00 pm.
Thyromata (Frames). This is the title of the solo exhibition by Kyriakos A. Spyrou, who, through this artistic course, draws on ontological experiences which are directly connected with his spiritual journey.
Each one of his works of report composes a “testimony” - a extract of reality - aiming mainly to appoint the polymorph of the human substance.
They are works that call upon the observer to look beyond the surface and to discover - often invisible - aspects of human Self.
The main characteristic of Spyrou’s work is the absence of objects as basic means of representation, a role which is taken by a line which constitutes the trace, the imprint of an expressed energy that in a dramatic way penetrates the space and records inner sensitivities
The choice of materials the artist has selected – oil paint, leaves of gold and string, which attain a figurative significance in the works- contribute, in a catalic way, to the result of the artist’s work, which aspires to opens up a dialogue of essential communication between the observer and the artist via art.
