The Trial of Socrates
“What could have happen if Socrates had been on trial now? In another time, another place, tried by some other people? By us, by you?” About 2500 years after Socrates’ trial and his death sentence, the Pafos Bar Association repeats the historic trial with this performance, in a modern court. Socrates is being tried on the basis of the Attic Law and the speeches of the Prosecutors of his time, but by using modern Criminal Procedure.During the performance, the audience, as members of the Court, will be asked to vote, defining thus the final outcome of the trial.
