A tribute to poet Nikos Kavvadias
A musical journey into the wondrous and mysterious seascapes described in the poetry of Greek poet, writer and seafarer Nikos Kavvadias.
Elena Hadjiaxendi and Andreas Papapetrou present Kavvadias’ deeply personal stories about his life, the places and people he encountered in his travels all over the world in a musical and theatrical performance. Join us for an eclectic mix of spoken word and song based on Kavvadias’ poetry, painting detailed images of a difficult life at sea, exotic places, memories of the War, prostitutes, captains gone mad, undying love and a solitary mind travelling beyond the horizon.
The performance is presented in the framework of the Commandaria Orchestra and Friends’ Concert Series and is co-organised with the Limassol Literary Society
