Tribute to Nikos Kavvadias & Thanos Mikroutsikos
On Sunday, March 20 at 8pm, Technopolis 20 will present a musical tribute to Nikos Kavvadias’ poetry set to music and to the music of Thanos Mikrotsikos. The musicians playing are the young Savvas Chrysostomou (voice, guitar), Sofia Ioannou (piano) and Nikolas Tsagkaris (percussion).
Nikos Kavadias, one of our most popular poets, with a timeless work, has inspired many musicians, among them Thanos Mikroutsikos. However, the "poet of the seas" left without a chance to hear even a poem set to music.
A few years after his death, in 1979, Thanos Mikroutsikos released the album "Cross of South (Stavros tou Notou)", with 11 poems of Kavvadias and in the next years to come, Mikroutsikos will set more poems to music.
The second part of the event will include songs of the great composer Thanos Mikroutsikos.
