Troodos Grape Festival 2010

Enjoy wine and zivania, music and traditional dances and delicious traditional food and wine products in the beautiful villages of Arsos, Koilani, Vasa and Vouni.

Palouzes* Festival
Vasa Village Square 19/9/2010 (3:00 pm)

- Exhibition of traditional products.
- Traditional palouzes will be prepared on site and offered free of charge to all visitors.
- Address by the Chairman of the Vasa (Krasochorion) Community Council.
- Address by the Deputy Chairman of the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism.
- Address by the Honorable Minister of Interior Mr. Neoklis Sylikiotis.
- Music and dance performance by the “Limassol Folklore Association” (sponsored by the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism).

Palouzes Festival
Arsos Village Square 26/9/2010 (4:00 pm)

- Address by the Chairman of the Arsos Development Association, the Chairman of the Arsos Community Council and the Deputy Chairman of the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism.
- Address by the Honorable Minister of Labor and Social Insurance Ms. Sotiroula Charalambous.
- Music and dance performance by the “Dionysos Cultural Group” and the “Ariones” choir (sponsored by the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism).
- Open air market with local products.
- Traditional palouzes will be offered free of charge to all visitors.
- Visits to the Byzantine church of St. Phillip, the icon museum of St. Mariamni, the Folk Art Museum and local traditional houses which will remain open for visitors during the event.

Afamia – Grape and Wine Festival
Kilani Village Square 3/10/2010 (11:00 am)

- Addresses by:
- Chairman of the Kilani Community Council.
- Chairman of the Kilaniotes Association.
- Cyprus government official.

- Theatrical Performance: Revival of the ancient custom of “Klidona” by the drama and dance groups of the Kilaniotes Association.
- Demonstration of traditional occupations/crafts.
- Preparation of palouzes and free tasting.
- Zivania distillation process.
- Exhibition of agricultural products.
- Open air market with local products.
- Visit to the museums, wineries and churches of the village which will remain open for visitors during the event.

Wine Tasting
Vouni Oenological Center 10/10/2010 (4:00 pm)

- Addresses by:
- Chairman of the Vouni Community Council.
- Deputy Chairman of the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism.
- Cyprus government official.

- Exhibition and free tasting of wines of the Troodos region accompanied by local products.
- Demonstration of traditional occupations/crafts.
- Music performance.

The event is sponsored by the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism.

Opening of the Pithari
Kilani Village Square 14/11/2010 (1:00 pm)

- Revival of the ancient custom of “pithigia”.
- Music performance by Michalis Terlikkas’ musical group “Muses” (sponsored by the Troodos Regional Board of Tourism).
- Wine and a variety of local products will be offered free of charge to all visitors.

The Troodos Regional Board of Tourism offers free transportation by bus to the events’ locations.
