"Twice a Stranger" Community Screening
‘Twice a Stranger’ is a film about the forced migration and population exchange between Greece and Turkey in 1923, when people were uprooted and forced to move to new homelands.
The screening is organised by the Cyprus Community Media Centre (CCMC) and the Association of Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR). It is hosted by the Ethnicity and Communications Research Team (ETHCOM) at the Cyprus University of Technology, and will be followed by an open discussion moderated by Dr Christopher Kyriakides (CUT), with the film’s director Andreas Apostolides, Prof Harry Tzimitras (Bilgi University) and other guests.
A cocktail reception will follow.
The film will be screened in Turkish, Greek and English with English subtitles. The debate will be facilitated in English with translation assistance available.
Venue: Pefkios Georgiades Lecture Theatre at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT)
