Under the Number
Under the Number present their new album "New Born".
Under the Number was formed in January 2008. The initial lineup was Kostas Ioannou (Guitar) Savvas Charalambous (Guitar) and Andros Kokkinos (Bass Guitar). Influenced by the 80's Hard-Rock and Metal Scene the Band started working on their first E.P Album that was released on the 20th of April 2009 titled "Never Ending Ride" Since the band did not have a permanent vocalist at the time, the Singer Joe Ohanian helped complete the Lyrics and Vocals on the album. Once the Album was completed, the Singer Marios Hadjiioannou and the Drummer Raphael Minas joined the band on the tour that presented the Album in Cyprus. In 2009 the band was chosen to support Paul Di'anno the former Iron Maiden Singer.
The Presentation of the Album was completed with five successful concerts on the island. After the completion of the "Never ending Ride" tour on the Island, the band decided to change its musical direction to Alternative Rock and Nu Metal.
The change to Alternative Rock required a new Vocalist that would move the band in the right direction. After many auditions and interviews the band decided to invite Roman to join the band as a fully pledged band member.
With a now complete line-up the band started working on its new material for the Album “New Born” which seals the bands change in musical direction.
Towards the completion of the new album, the Drummer Raphael Minas announced his departure of the band due to social responsibilities. Following Raphaels departure the bands official new drummer “Raphael Kyriakides” completed the recordings on the album.
The Album New Born was officially released on the 15th of April 2011 and is clearly in the direction of Alternative Rock and Nu Metal. Today’s line-up consists of: Roman, Kostas, Savvas, Andros and Raphael which will perform the tour for the new Album in Cyprus and Europe.
