Valentine's Art Date
Loukia and Michael Zampelas Art Museum is proud to present Valentine’s Art Date, an exhibition dedicated to the meaning of Valentine’s Day beyond its commercial identity. The exhibition evolves in 5 categories:
Romance, Flowers, Eros, Feelings and Couples.
Implementing the work of 57 artists the concepts Romance, Flowers, Eros and Couples take a visual form through paintings and sculptures and endeavor to showcase the journey that takes two separate beings into their joint existence; being a couple.
The category Couples includes not only stereotypical couples but also a selection of pairs (a pair of friends, a pair of shoes, a pair of aliens) in an attempt to demonstrate that being a couple means being in a state of wholeness; α perfect match.
Feelings is a category bound to the input of the public; the gallery’s visitors are creating the piece. Feelings, created by the visitors’ verbal responses, is a sound piece which becomes the essence of the exhibition as feelings are the essence of relationships. Preview of Feelings 12 February until the end of the exhibition.
Loukia and Michael Zampelas Art Museum aspires to make this year’s Valentine’s Day an Art Date and invite all of you to participate in this exhibition either by viewing the artworks or participating in the making of Feelings.
Entrance to the Valentine's Art Date exhibition is FREE.
You can also visit the Museum's Permanent Collection at the special price of €8 for two people with a guided tour on the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of February.
During the exhibition the works will be available for sale with 10% discount.
