Venetian Carnival and Commedia dell arte
It’s carnival time yet again! Bring your kids for a morning of arts and crafts on February 14th at 10:30 am! Jean Baptiste Oudry’s Pierott and Harlequin and the Eugene Lami’s Venetian ladies from the A. G. Leventis Gallery’s collection, will help introduce the kids to the world of European Art. They will also be introduced to the origins and development of the Venetian carnival tradition and the Italian street theatre, Commedia dell arte. After getting into the carnival spirit, they will then be encouraged to use their imagination to create unique and extravagant Venetian masks, using mixed media.
