Violin and piano recital
We are delighted to announce our upcoming events featuring Julian Fahrner (violin) and Johannes Lang (piano) in a violin and piano recital that will take place at Technohoros ETHAL on Monday, 19th March 2012 at 20:00 and at the Archontiko Technon (ARTE) on Tuesday, 20th March 2012 at 20:00. The concert is jointly organised by the ‘Friends of ARTE Society’ and ‘CultureTones Organisation’ in collaboration with the Goethe Institute in Cyprus. The project is coordinated by DueCapi.
The ‘Friends of ARTE Society’ is a non profit cultural organisation that promotes several events in order to give a new prospective into the cultural scene of Cyprus. The society gives opportunities to several young artists (painters, musicians, actors etc) to present their work and also combines together different genres bringing together all different forms of Art. So far, it has hosted some very important personalities such as the pianist Martino Tirimo, the poet Thomas Transtromer and the writer Petros Tatsopoulos.
The CultureTones Organisation is a newly founded non – profit cultural organisation based in Limassol that aims to promote classical and contemporary music and performing arts of the highest level and develop a contemporary thinking and a modern approach to art. Beside the collaboration with accomplished and well known artists, CultureTones Organisation gives opportunities to many young and up-and-coming artists to present their work, encouraging development of arts and education in Cyprus. CultureTones Organisation is the organizer of the Avaton International Contemporary Music Festival, a Limassol based festival that has attracted national and international attention.
Julian Fahrner was born in 1990 in Basel and started his training on the violin at the age of 6. He has received numerous awards, including five first prizes. For many years was Concertmaster of the National Youth Orchestra and the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Currently, he enjoys a career as soloist, chamber and orchestral musician and he has already perform in Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, Poland and Egypt.
Johannes Lang was born in 1989 in Dusseldorf. He began his music training at the age of 8 in piano and later on in organ. He won many competitions and appeared with many ensembles as a solist. For his exceptional artistic achievements he was awarded scholarships from various foundations including "Musical Life German Foundation", "Arts Foundation of Baden-Württemberg" and the "Manfred-Vetter-Stiftung". Currently he has a busy career both as a pianist and organist.

F. Schubert (1797 – 1828): Violin Sonata op.137 no. 1
C. Frank (1822 – 1890): Violin Sonata in A Major
E. Grieg (1843 – 1907): Sonata No. 2 in G Major Op.13
G. Christofi (b. 1981): Syncytium
