Cyprus : Vitaly Pisarenko - Piano Recital

The Pharos Arts Foundation, with the kind support of The Keyboard Charitable Trust in London, presents a recital with the remarkable Russian pianist Vitaly Pisarenko. Described by the New York Times as an immensely gifted pianist, with prodigious technique, myriad shadings and scrupulous accuracy, Pisarenko has taken Europe by storm after winning, in 2008, the First Prize in the 8th International Franz List Piano Competition. He has since performed in recitals and concertos with renowned orchestras all over world to great critical and audience acclaim. For his recital in Cyprus, which will take place on Thursday 3 December at The Shoe Factory / 8:30pm, Pisarenko will perform works by Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Chopin and Haydn.

In 2008, aged 21 Russian pianist Vitaly Pisarenko won First Prize in the 8th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht. Since then he has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras and ensembles, and as a recital soloist, throughout the world.

Vitaly Pisarenko gave his first public recital at the age of six. Since winning the Liszt Competition, he has performed in more than twenty-five countries including Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, China, Japan, Mexico, the UK and the USA. His highly successful appearances include concerts at the Basilica Festival of Flanders, the Piano Pic Festival in France, the Berlin International Music Festival, the Delft Chamber Music Festival and the Busoni Festival in Bolzano.

In 2009, Pisarenko toured extensively with the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and performed with the Polish National Philharmonic Orchestra at the Beethoven Festival in Warsaw and with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra at the Ushuaia Festival in Argentina. The same year he toured with the Heath Quartet, winners of the TROMP International Music Competition, and performed Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini in the reopening ceremony of De Doelen Concert Hall in Rotterdam. He also took part in the European Liszt Nights tour and performed at the Vilnius Piano Festival and in South Africa. In 2010, he performed in Shanghai during the World EXPO and toured with the Gelders Orkest performing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.4, and a year later, he was invited to Japan for an extensive tour with the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra. In the following years, Pisarenko has made his debuts at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, the Musikverein in Vienna, De Singel in Antwerp, the Palace of Arts in Budapest and in South Korea performing at the Seoul Arts Centre with the KBS Symphony Orchestra. He has toured China with performances at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing and the Shanghai Concert Hall and has appeared at several prestigious festivals including the International Chopin Piano Festival in Duszniki (Poland), the Euro Music Festival in Halle (Germany), the Grachtenfestival (Amsterdam) and the Diaghilev Festival (St. Petersburg).

In 2014, Vitaly Pisarenko returned to Belgium for a tour of ‘Liszt’s Confession’ with actor Warre Borgmans, and gave a number of solo recitals and concerts with orchestras in the USA, Italy, China and the UK. Amongst his engagements in 2015 are recitals at London’s Wigmore Hall and St. James’s, Piccadilly, and tours in South Africa and China.

Pisarenko began his studies in Ukraine, and continued at Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and at Oxana Yablonskaya’s Piano Institute in Italy. In 2014, he graduated with a Mastrer’s degree with distinction from the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied with Dmitri Alexeev.
