"Volumina Sacra" by Iosif Hadjikyriakos
The Kypriaki Gonia Gallery will present the painting and sculpture exhibition entitled “Volumina Sacra” by Iosif Hadjikyriakos. After his successful installation which took place in the Antique Prisons of the Palazzo Ducale in Venice, the Cypriot artist (how lives and works in Italy) will expose his new artworks in the Larnaca’s gallery , promoter of young artists. The subject of the exhibition will be based on the relations between the volume and the space as well as the coexistence of the sacred and profane in the Art, themes presented in the artist’s works the last seven years.
The exhibition will be opened on Wednesday 15 September 2010 at 7.300 p.m.
Iosif Hadjikyriakos was born in Larnaca, in 1979. Degree in Art, Accademia di Belle Art, Venice and Art History in Venice - Ca’Foscari University. He shown his work in various exhibitions in Italy, Greece and Cyprus. Some of his paintings are exposed in the permanent collections of National Museum of Modern Art of Rome, The Gallery of the Makarios III Foundation, the Civil gallery of Corfu.
In 2004 he won the marc de Montalembert Price and the next year he exposed in the 51st Venice Biennale.
He collaborates as a stage and costume designer in various theaters in Cyprus and Italy.
