Α. ARENSKY: Variations on a theme by Tchaikovsky, op. 35a
J. HAYDN: Sinfonia concertante in B-flat major, op. 84
Fr. DELIUS: Two pieces for small orchestra
Α. DVOŘÁK: Czech suite in D major, op. 39

Arensky wrote the Variations on a Theme of Tchaikovsky in 1894, as a tribute to Tchaikovsky who had died one year earlier. The seven variations and the final coda are based on the song "Legend" from Tchaikovsky's Sixteen Children's Songs, op. 54. Joseph Haydn composed the Sinfonia Concertante in 1792, during his first visit in London. The work is considered to be one of the best examples of the sinfonie concertante, a genre combining the developments in symphonic music with the tradition of the concerto grosso. Frederick Delius was born in England from German parents. He lived most of his life in France and it is there that he composed in 1912 the first of the Two Pieces for Small Orchestra, On Hearing the first cuckoo in Spring, where everyone can hear the cuckoo, played by the clarinet in a "forest" of strings. The second piece, Summer Night on the River, composed in 1911, is also atmospheric music, descriptive of murmuring waters, insects and trees. Antonin Dvorak is considered, together with Bedrich Smetana, one of the most prominent National Czech composers. Indeed, his Czech Suite in D major, composed in 1879, is one of the pieces that justify this characterization.

Conductor Aharon Dimont received his professional education in music at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory specializing in French Horn. The period during his studies at the Conservatory is known as the Golden Era of Soviet Musical Art. It is so due to the rise of legendary distinguished musicians such as David Oistrakh, Leonid Kogan, Mstislav Rostropovich, Heinrich Neuhaus, Sviatoslav Richter, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Boris Khaikin, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Kirill Kondrashin, Evgeny Svetlanov and others, among whom Dr. Aharon Dimont had the privilege to live, interact and study with. Upon taught for several years at the Alma-Ata State Conservatory in Kazakhstan and for several years was the conductor and artistic director of the Opera Studio of the Conservatory. Dr. Aharon Dimont regularly performed the French Horn in solo recitals, in chamber ensembles, at the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Alma-Ata, at the Opera Theatre and the Chamber Orchestra of Radio and Television. In 1993, Dr. Aharon Dimont was invited to the position of Principal Horn in the Cyprus State Orchestra and teacher and conductor of the Cyprus State Youth Orchestra together with his family of musicians. Aharon Dimont has been a regular guest conductor at the Cyprus State Orchestra several times with various concert programs. As a co-founder, Dr. Aharon Dimont took part in the opening of the Music Department at the University of Nicosia in 2005, where he taught conducting, solfege, music theory, various orchestral instruments, and was the artistic director and conductor of the student orchestra.
