Window Art
The centre of Paphos’ old town has been hard hit by the global economic crisis, with many shops lying empty and abandoned.
Two Paphos based artists have taken steps to breathe new life into the heart of the coastal town by organising an exhibition titled, “Window Art”.
Twenty seven empty shops are taking part in the scheme, with owners hoping the premises will ultimately be rented by potential customers.
If a store is rented then the artist will leave. All of the art work in each shop window is for sale and will be replaced by new items once they have sold.
Male and female artists will take part in the venture and are of various nationalities, including English, Japanese, Russian and Cypriot.
The Window Art exhibition will take about 20 minutes to walk round. It will run until the end of August.
