A theater workshop with Heinz-Uwe Haus
Following Brecht's Method for Actors, Dramaturges, Designers & Directors the workshop will familiarize the participants with methods of practical theatre making developed on the basis of a Brechtian mindset and technique. It trains an “epic theatre making“. Included will be analysis of dramaturgy, theatrical realization of the text, scenic situation, and grouping, use of space, character definition and development. It investigates significant actions and realistic detail, attitude and social gestus, discovery and demonstration of breaks in the action and storytelling to discover and project contradictions.
The training exercises as well as the methodical reflections focus on the „common ground“ of writing, directing and acting. It is also my aim to enable the participants to work with others in a way that elicits co-operation, clarity, and committed action.
