First part
- J.S. Bach Cello suites on the Cretan Lyra.
Cello Suite no. 1, BWV 1007
Yiorgos Kaloudis interprets on the 4-string Cretan lyra, selected parts of one of the most important works of J.S.Bach, the Suites for Solo Cello.
Cellist, lyra player, improviser and composer, Yiorgos Kaloudis created a new interpretive approach, adding a fourth string on the Cretan lyra and transcribing this work of Bach in the authentic tonalities of the composer.
Second part
- Pieces from his personal discography, "TRUTH", "ON THE WIND" as well as material from his upcoming releases.
He uses the live-loop-recording technique to orchestrate sound layers during his performance. A string environment is created by the special harmonic architecture of the cello and the Cretan Lyra. Through his compositions and improvisations, the music reveals an atmospheric soundscape of classical, ambient, jazz, world music elements.
