Young Artists Platform (2) - The first step
Max Bruch’s Romanze for viola pours out with romantic warmth whilst, Rossini’s popular overture is full of his characteristic effervescence and good humour. Pablo de Sarasate captivates us with his Carmen Fantasy based on themes from Bizet’s famous opera. The triumphant spirit of Johann Strauss’s Radetzky March always inspires claps and stomps from the audience! Interestingly, its middle section is based on a Viennese folk tune of the time. The piano concerto by Cypriot composer and pianist Christodoulos Georgiades “flows from the heart… not from the brain”, as the composer confesses.
