The music video to accompany “Firefly”, the song representing Cyprus in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has been released.
16 year old Christina Metaxa spent two days filming the video in various locations around the beautiful island of Cyprus that included Kollossi Castle in Limassol and woodland area near the village of Kornos.
The music video is set in both the present and the past and has a dreamlike quality. The story follows a personal quest to reach your dreams and to follow the right path in life. Christina is guided in her journey by a Firefly.
Cyprus is known for its warm and sunny weather, but on the days of filming it was unusually cold and wet. But the bad weather did not stop Christina Metaxa and the crew getting on with the job at hand. Christina had a great time filming the music video and really enjoyed the experience.
All the video clips of the countries that will take part in the contest will be shown on 20, 21 and 22 April 2009, from CyBC 1 at 18.15.
