Ouzeri Tsitsanis
The film takes place in Thessaloniki in the years 1942-1943 when the city was under German command and follows a “forbidden” love story between a Christian and a Jew. The story focuses around the ouzeri – or tavern – once owned by Vasilis Tsitsanis, the “father of Greek popular music” who developed some of his most important songs during wartime Greece.
