The film takes place in Thessaloniki in the years 1942-1943 when the city was under German command and follows a “forbidden” love story between a Christian and a Jew. The story focuses around the ouzeri – or tavern – once owned by Vasilis Tsitsanis, the “father of Greek popular music” who developed some of his most important songs during wartime Greece.

In a mythical world, Mune, a small, facetious faun, is made the guardian of the Moon, against his own wishes. His job is to bring along the night and to watch over the world of dreams. But he causes disasters one after the other and provides the guardian of the shadows Necross with an opportunity to steal the Sun. With the assistance of Sohone, the Sun’s proud guardian, and fragile wax-child Glim, Mune then sets out on an extraordinary quest which will make him a legendary guardian.
