Domestic Landscapes - Miriam McConnon
Miriam’s most recent paintings and drawings pose questions about the influence that domestic objects have over our sense of who we are and how we live. In Miriam’s previous work she used objects to describe people and their lives. Using a subtlety and a sensitivity to detail that allowed us to engage with the person that the objects described, whether it was the tailor, the gardener, the seamstress or a little ballerina. Her new work does not describe one particular person but instead speaks to each individual bringing them on a journey of contemplation about their own everyday pattern of life.
