Gloria Gallery presents a new exhibition by Eleni Nicodemou opening on Wednesday, June 18th, 2012 at 19.30.
The painting/comics exhibition is dedicated to the memory of the 13 dead from the Mari explosion.
Eleni Nicodemou was born in 1955 in Cyprus, where she currently lives and works. She initially studied Economics at the University of Athens and in 1978 she enrolled at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and received her diploma in Painting and Engraving in 1983.
In the beginning of the 1980s she stayed and worked at the Cité Internationale des Arts. She has received scholarships from the French Government, the Hellenic Organization of Small and Medium Enterprises and Handicraft and the Leventis Foundation of Cyprus. In 1986 she was awarded the Prix Matisse by the French Embassy in Cyprus. Nicodemou has held numerous solo exhibitions over the years in Cyprus, France, Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland and Belgium. Her works are included in numerous private collections in Europe, the United States and Japan.
